That’s a bit shit

Biochar. What is biochar? It is a charcoal like substance made by burn ing organic materials using a pyrolysis (reduced oxygen burning). This can safely store carbon and reduces contamination in the biochar. Pyrolysis uses less energy to convert organics to carbon and the resulting biochar can be used as a soil fertiliser.

Did you know that there is more waste generated by adult nappies than baby’s nappies, (really that’s a no brainer when you think about it) and these used adult incontinence products were and still are primarily sent to landfill. Earlier this year in Victoria, a six week trail took landfill destinted nappies and processed them into biochar. More studies are underway but isn’t this a brilliant way to slow both landfill and soil degradation.

And now, a house built from nappies. in this case I think it’s baby’s nappies that are used. The nappies are cleaned of solids and sanitised and then shredded and added to the cement mix in part place of sand.

I can hardly wait for junior to say when he is a teenager, my shit built this house.
