Convenience at a cost

Ultra Processed Foods (UPF)

Think chips, instant noodles, sugary cereals - these are the hallmarks of ultra-processed foods. They've undergone extensive manipulation, losing nutrients and gaining flavourings, additives, and unhealthy fats. Fluffy, store-bought bread brimming with additives, not pantry staples. Craving a creamy salad dressing? Check the label for thickeners and artificial colours, hallmarks of UPFs. While convenient and often delicious, they lack the fibre, vitamins, and minerals found in whole foods. This can lead to health concerns like obesity, heart disease, and even cancer.

But it's not all bad news! Swap ultra-processed options for minimally processed ones like Small Batch Gourmet sauces, frozen fruits and veggies, canned beans, whole grains. Cook more at home with fresh ingredients. Read labels, limit added sugars, and prioritize whole foods for a healthier, happier you. Remember, small changes can make a big difference!
