Unreal food

After listening to an interesting podcast the other day, I began to wonder what constitutes as food. The product, which was the subject of the podcast had very very little ingredients I would call food. Mostly it consisted of numbers and words ending “ol”.

The product was touted as a great substitute for a product that was pretty easy to make with real ingredients.

I just wonder the long-term repercussions of “unreal” food. Does anyone remember when margarine was sold to us a healthier alternative to butter? Reduced fat revolution? Please let us return to real food.

In my category of condiments, the practice of preserving food has been happening for a very long time. Shelf life is a thing I understand, supermarkets like long expiry dates. I can still make a product that has twelve months expiry with all natural ingredients.

Please consider what unreal foods you put in your body and opt for the healthier options at least some of the time.
